"Gone Maggie Gone" 15 March 2009
A solar eclipse is coming to Springfield and the Simpson’s is ready to see it. Just before the eclipse is coming Homer breaks his camera. Marge offers her camera to Homer, but when the eclipse occurs Marge can’t keep her eyes closed and the suns blinds her. Homer brings Marge to the doctor and he tells Marge to keep her eyes closed for two weeks. Homer promise to be her eyes and take care of everything, but sooner than he thinks he gets in trouble. After a few days of Homer cooking the kitchen is full of rats. Homer decides to go and get rat poison and brings Maggie and the dog. On the way back from the store Homer lose control of the car and end up on the wrong side of the river. Now he needs to solve a puzzle to get everything over the river. He starts with Maggie and places her on the steps to a church while he gets the dog on the other side, the only thing Homer missed was the sign that sad that they church take care of all children placed on the doorstep. Homer tries to hide the fact that Maggie is lost for Marge and makes a pretty good job. The rest of the episode is basically all about Lisa trying to solve puzzles to save Maggie, and of course Lisa solves the puzzle and saves Maggie. This episode wasn’t that good, but the short part when Homer tries to solve the puzzle to bring everything over the river is great!
My first reaction on this blog was that I wouldn’t want Homer to be my eyes for two weeks, that can’t just go right. And as you said he manage to lose Maggie, and not surprisingly Lisa is the one in the family that solves the whole thing. I thought this episode gave a good understanding of how the Simpson family works together.
