The Simpsons, episode from 1 March

This episode of Simpsons started off with a new introduction. I liked it; it was something new and fresh but still gave the feeling of Simpsons. They have done a good job to give the old traditional Simpsons introduction a better look. I read somewhere that they did this change because of the introduction to HD-TV. But I wonder if it was to reduce actually “Simpson’s time”, because this introduction was much longer than the old one, or at least it felt so for me. What do you feel? Now to what happened in the episode. Bart and Lisa had a test in school that decided how much money the school should get from the government. As a big surprise they didn’t want Bart and the other “top students” to take the test so they send them away, but as usual Bart finds away to come back and save the other students from taking the test. The other main theme for tonight was how Homer forgets to pay the insurance bill so he really needs to stay out of trouble. NOT EASY for Homer. He gets paranoid and sees danger in everything, but luckily he manage to both stay out of trouble and stay alive. The part about Homer was really fun and my favorite part for tonight.

Overall a good episode!

Looking forward to next Sunday!

  1. I have to agree that I thought the Homer bit was the most entertaining part of this week's episode. While I thought the whole play on the "No Child Left Alone" act was really well done, Marge's comment about knowing what Homer is capable of was really humorous. It kind of hits home just because I know I could picture my mom saying something like that to my dad, though maybe in not such an understanding way..haha.

  3. HA, I think you might be right about the opening. They lengthened it so that they didn't have to have as much substance to their show. I suppose it can be said that they are running out of ideas. From what i remember, but it seems they tend to rehash old themes (off the top of my head, i cant remember exactly which episodes). But you know, they have been on the air for like 19 years or something, so i guess they are doing pretty good.
