"Gone Maggie Gone" 15 March 2009
A solar eclipse is coming to Springfield and the Simpson’s is ready to see it. Just before the eclipse is coming Homer breaks his camera. Marge offers her camera to Homer, but when the eclipse occurs Marge can’t keep her eyes closed and the suns blinds her. Homer brings Marge to the doctor and he tells Marge to keep her eyes closed for two weeks. Homer promise to be her eyes and take care of everything, but sooner than he thinks he gets in trouble. After a few days of Homer cooking the kitchen is full of rats. Homer decides to go and get rat poison and brings Maggie and the dog. On the way back from the store Homer lose control of the car and end up on the wrong side of the river. Now he needs to solve a puzzle to get everything over the river. He starts with Maggie and places her on the steps to a church while he gets the dog on the other side, the only thing Homer missed was the sign that sad that they church take care of all children placed on the doorstep. Homer tries to hide the fact that Maggie is lost for Marge and makes a pretty good job. The rest of the episode is basically all about Lisa trying to solve puzzles to save Maggie, and of course Lisa solves the puzzle and saves Maggie. This episode wasn’t that good, but the short part when Homer tries to solve the puzzle to bring everything over the river is great!
“In the name of Grandfather” 22 March 2009
This episode starts with that the Simpson’s visit a home and garden show. Marge is very excited but the rest of the family is not very happy, but promise to behave. At the show they purchase a hot tub. This turn out to be a success and they bath for a long time. While they are bathing Abraham Simpson is waiting for the family to visit his elderly home for an event. Abraham gets very upset because they missed the event and destroys the hot tub. Homer promise to make it up by visit a pub called O’Flanagan’s where Abraham had the greatest time of his life. To Homer’s big surprise the pub is in Ireland, but a promise is a promise so he takes the whole family and his dad to Ireland. Homer and Abraham go to O’Flanagan’s, but the bar is empty and Abraham feels like everything in Ireland have changed. Nothing is like the old good days. While Homer and Abraham visit the bar, Marge, Lisa and Bart visit Ireland’s historical attractions. When they get back Homer and Abraham have bought a bar, got arrested because they changed the rules of smoking at the bar and get deported back to America.I think this episode is based on the history that many people from Ireland immigrated to America. It also shows that very much have change in Ireland since people left. At one point of the episode Lisa says that Ireland have become a high technological country.
"Eeny Teeny Maya Moe" 5 april 09
This episode is about Homer spending more time with Maggie because Marge doesn’t feel he spends enough time with her. Homer gets a great idea and brings Maggie to Moe’s bar that has a playground outside, perfect for Homer; he can drink beer and watch Maggie at the same time. It turns out that Homer’s ability to drink beer and watch Maggie at the same time is not too good. Marge feels that Maggie has changed after spending all this time with Homer so she buys a “spy cam” to watch was going on when Homer is away with Maggie. Luckily for Homer Marge only sees the one time Homer pays attention to Maggie and save her from the “big” baby that want to hit Maggie. Marge get happy and warm inside and feels she have the greatest husband in the world. I can relate Marge’s need to supervise Homer to our society. Think of all the ways we get supervised, two examples that pops up in my head are cameras in the supermarket and check-in card at work. The other big thing that happens in this episode is that Moe meet Maya. She is a great person and he likes her a lot, the only problem is that she is so small. Moe doesn’t know how to treat her and are afraid that his friends going to laugh at her. He decides that the only people that going to meet Maya is Homer and Marge so he arrange a double date. The date turns out well and either Marge or Homer cares about Maya’s size.
The best from this episode is Homer's final words to Moe:
"Remember that if someone loved you once, someone can love you again."
And how Moe thinks about that:
"Moe wonders how a woman so short could make him feel so big."
